Year 9 is the final rehearsal before the GCSEs begin. The pace is faster, the workload is heavier, and the "fluff" from lower years has been stripped away to make room for complex, abstract problem-solving. Many students hit a wall here simply because their previous knowledge isn't robust enough to handle the new intensity.
